Laing O’Rourke have awarded Receptek the ‘Specialist Bedroom Joinery Package’ for the for Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Farnham Road Hospital Adult Acute Inpatient Mental Health Unit project.
The proposed design seeks to remove one of the locally listed buildings; this will enable the build of three new wards. These two storey wards with shared therapy areas are connected via a gallery link, which adjoins the main listed buildings.
Once complete, the scheme will comprise two 15 bed working age adult wards, one 18 bed working age adult ward and a 12 bed Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit. These will be alongside a shared therapies building, which will include a cafe.
The bedrooms will be fitted with anti ligature wardrobes, desks and seating. Laing O’Rourke selected Receptek because their ability to work to a budget whilst satisfyiing the stringent requirements of such a demanding environment.
